My career in visual effects began in 2001 at Cal State Long Beach, where I majored in Film & Electronic Arts. After completing an internship in digital effects working on commercials and music videos at Strange Engine, I began a second internship at New Deal Studios, a miniature effects house specializing in fabricating and filming miniatures for feature films, music videos and commercials. For the next four years, I worked as a Miniature Effects Technician on blockbuster films such as ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’, ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ and ‘National Treasure’.
In 2005, I transitioned back to digital effects and eventually landed a position in the 3D Tracking & Matchmove Department at Rhythm & Hues Studios. I soon found my place in their Lighting Department, where I spent eight years as a Lighting Artist and eventually Lead Lighting Artist on projects such as ‘R.I.P.D.’ and the Academy Award nominated ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. In this leadership role, I trained and mentored artists across teams in Los Angeles, Malaysia, and India.
I entered the world of feature animation in 2013 as a Lighting & Compositing Artist at Reel FX on their first animated feature length movie ‘Free Birds’. Since then, I have contributed to various studios, focusing on feature and episodic VFX projects. With a strong foundation in visual effects, my focus has shifted toward product branding and advertising. Currently, I am a staff Visual Effects Artist at Evox Images, where I help create digital assets with a strong emphasis on automotive visualization.
